Birmingham: Thinktank Museum

Monday 30th July 2012. UPDATED: Sunday 26th August 2012
Thinktank is.... think tank at millennium point

"Everything you thought you knew about the world - but didn't! Find out about your world and yourself in our ten themed, hands-on galleries. Surprising! Hard to believe! And sometimes downright disgusting!! The perfect family day out."

Having visited Thinktank for myself, I can certainly recommend it for younger students around the ages of 8-13. There are lots of interesting exhibits of interest to adults, though everything is made accessible to children. I was impressed with the helpfulness of the staff who were keen to tell me about the facilities for school groups and the talks on offer.

The 'science garden' includes interactive play areas designed to get children thinking about forces and motion. I can't image any child not wanting a 'science garden' of their own!

Although I didn't visit The Planetarium, I've seen them before. There are various shows on during the day with many aimed at younger children.
